Winter packing list for Europe: How to stay warm and stylish

I'm heading to Central Europe (Prague, Vienna, and Budapest) this coming January, and I'm stressing out about what to pack. I want to stay genuinely warm against the freezing temperatures and snow, but I also don't want to look like a marshmallow in all my vacation photos. What are your absolute must-have layering pieces, footwear, and outerwear that strike the right balance between fashion and function?

Prague and Budapest in January are no joke, but you can totally stay chic! The secret is 100% merino wool base layers. They trap heat without adding any bulk, so your sweaters and coats actually fit properly.
